Job Description
Automation Risk
This role contains a high proportion of routine and semi-routine tasks (stock ordering, invoicing, payments, record-keeping) that are increasingly automated by workshop management and CRM systems. However, key customer-facing and problem-resolution activities still require human presence, empathy, and judgment. AI tools can augment booking, updates, and documentation, but full automation is limited by the need for interpersonal interaction.
Task analysis
- Greet customers on arrival and determine service needs.
- Take service bookings by phone and in person.
- Order stock and parts for repairs.
- Price repairs and create invoices.
- Liaise with customers and Technicians to resolve queries.
- Take payments from customers.
- Keep customers updated on service progress.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each job.
