This role has a moderate automation risk due to several routine and codifiable tasks, such as prescription processing and inventory management, which are increasingly supported or replaced by pharmacy automation systems and AI tools. However, tasks involving patient interaction, medicines advice, and multidisciplinary collaboration require human judgment, empathy, and communication, limiting full automation. GenAI and digital tools can augment many aspects, especially in data handling and record-keeping.
