Job Description
Automation Risk
This role combines routine data collection and documentation (which are increasingly automatable) with tasks requiring technical troubleshooting, real-time analysis, and stakeholder communication. While AI and automation can augment many technical aspects, the need for contextual judgment, hands-on equipment work, and direct communication with aviation personnel keeps full automation risk moderate. GenAI tools can assist with reporting and data analysis, raising the AI exposure score.
Task analysis
- Monitor and record meteorological data using specialized instruments and sensors.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot meteorological equipment to ensure accurate readings.
- Interpret and analyze weather data to identify trends or anomalies relevant to aviation safety.
- Prepare and deliver weather reports and briefings to pilots and aviation operators.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards in meteorological operations.
- Document and archive weather observations, instrument logs, and maintenance records.
- Communicate with aviation stakeholders to provide timely updates on changing weather conditions.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training in meteorological techniques and safety protocols.
