Job Description

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their small finance team. The role involves delivering accounting and financial administration services to a varied client portfolio, including cashiering, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, financial investigations, and VAT compliance across UK and Isle of Man jurisdictions. You will act as the main day-to-day contact for a key client, managing financial queries and ensuring high service standards while coordinating with internal teams. Responsibilities include processing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and submitting VAT returns, supporting tax compliance, assisting with month-end and year-end processes, and handling payroll in line with UK/IOM regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping, payroll experience (UK and/or IOM preferred), strong knowledge of UK and Isle of Man VAT and tax frameworks, and the ability to work independently with a high level of organisation and integrity.
