Job Description
Automation Risk
This role contains a high proportion of routine and codifiable tasks (e.g., payment processing, reconciliations, record keeping) that are increasingly automated by modern accounting software and AI tools. However, tasks involving client relationship management, cross-team coordination, and nuanced compliance work still require significant human input. Overall, the role is highly exposed to AI augmentation, with a substantial risk of automation for many core activities.
Task analysis
- Process client payments, including cashiering and bank reconciliations for multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns for UK and Isle of Man clients.
- Handle payroll processing in line with UK/IOM regulations, including calculations and submissions.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for a varied client portfolio.
- Act as main day-to-day contact for a key client, managing financial queries and service standards.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Support tax compliance and financial investigations as required.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
- Respond to ad hoc client and auditor queries regarding financial transactions.
