Automation Risk
This role involves a high proportion of routine and semi-routine tasks—such as order-taking, payment processing, and cleaning—that are increasingly automatable with POS systems, kiosks, and cleaning robots. However, core elements of the barista role, such as delivering personalized service, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and responding to customer emotions, remain resistant to full automation. Task analysis
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to customer specifications, including latte art and seasonal drinks.
