Job Description
Automation Risk
While many analytical and data-driven tasks are increasingly supported by AI and automation, the Pricing Manager role requires significant human judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic decision-making. Routine modelling and reporting can be automated or augmented, but tasks involving stakeholder management, regulatory interpretation, and executive communication resist full automation. Overall, the role is moderately automatable but highly exposed to AI augmentation.
Task analysis
- Design and implement pricing strategies to enhance margin and customer retention.
- Develop segmented pricing strategies for specific customer profiles.
- Build and maintain pricing models to forecast customer behaviour, revenue, and margin.
- Obtain and analyse customer insight, market research, and company data to inform pricing design.
- Present commercial business cases for executive approval of pricing proposals.
- Lead periodic reviews and updates to pricing structures and tariffs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, Customer Service, IT, Finance, and Legal teams to implement pricing changes.
- Ensure pricing strategies comply with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor actual vs forecast pricing performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
