Job Description
Automation Risk
While some routine aspects of tax preparation and compliance can be automated or augmented by specialized software and AI tools, the role requires significant human judgment, client interaction, and adaptation to complex, evolving regulations. The high exposure to AI augmentation comes from research, document preparation, and workflow optimization, but core advisory and leadership tasks remain resistant to full automation.
Task analysis
- Prepare and review complex tax returns and supporting documentation for a diverse client portfolio.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies and implications of changing tax legislation.
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
- Conduct technical research on complex tax issues and communicate findings to clients and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Represent clients in discussions with tax authorities and manage audits or investigations.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax workflows.
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
