Job Description

You'll audit various locations including supermarkets, high-street retailers, and betting shops. Your task? Make a specific purchase, see if you are asked for ID and report back - you even get to keep the products bought! We cover the whole of the Isle of Man (along with Ireland and the UK) so you can get paid to explore beyond your local area! The role is fully flexible so you don't need to commit to set hours and can balance this around your other commitments. We're looking for someone who is fluent in written and spoken English, has excellent time management skills and strong communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail. You don't need any prior experience as we'll provide comprehensive training and mentorship. To apply, go through our website: https://auditors.servelegal.co.uk/become-a-serve-legal-auditor

While some reporting and data submission tasks are routine and can be automated, the core task of mystery shopping requires human presence and judgment to realistically assess compliance. AI tools can assist with report writing, scheduling, and training, but the role's reliance on in-person audits and nuanced observation limits full automation.

Task analysis

  • Visit assigned retail locations and attempt purchases to assess ID-check compliance.
  • Observe and record whether staff request ID during purchase attempts.
  • Complete detailed written reports summarizing findings from each visit.
  • Submit reports and supporting evidence (e.g., receipts, photos) through an online portal.
  • Communicate with coordinators to clarify instructions or resolve issues encountered during audits.
  • Manage personal schedule to complete assignments within required timeframes.
  • Participate in training and mentorship sessions to understand compliance standards and procedures.
  • Travel to various locations across the Isle of Man to conduct audits.
