Many tasks in this role are routine, such as operating tills, cleaning, and restocking, which are increasingly automatable via POS systems, cleaning robots, and inventory software. However, customer interaction, teamwork, and service orientation require human presence and social intelligence, limiting full automation. GenAI tools can augment product suggestions, training, and some aspects of customer service, resulting in moderate AI exposure.
