Job Description
Automation Risk
Many core tasks, such as reservations, check-in/out, and record-keeping, are routine and increasingly handled by PMS software, kiosks, and AI chatbots, raising automation risk. However, tasks involving guest complaints, real-time problem-solving, and maintaining a welcoming presence require human empathy and judgment, limiting full automation. The role is highly exposed to AI augmentation, especially for information provision and workflow automation.
Task analysis
- Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests using the hotel PMS (e.g., Rezlynx).
- Respond to guest inquiries and provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications in the property management system.
- Handle guest check-out, review accounts, and process payments.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff regarding room status and guest requests.
- Maintain accurate records of room availability, guest accounts, and transactions.
- Resolve guest complaints or escalate issues to management as appropriate.
- Monitor lobby area and ensure a welcoming and safe environment for guests.
