While some routine tasks such as documentation and compliance tracking can be automated or augmented with digital tools, the majority of this role involves direct personal care, supervision, and empathetic interaction, which are resistant to automation. AI can assist with care planning and communication, but the core responsibilities require human presence and judgment.
Task analysis
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of service users, ensuring dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
- Measure effectiveness of care plans with the interdisciplinary team and provide care improvement recommendations.
- Oversee and support Health Care Assistants, addressing performance issues with Registered Nurses or Managers.
- Monitor and record service user conditions, reporting changes to nursing staff or management.
- Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
- Participate in case reviews and communicate with the care team to evaluate and plan ongoing services.
- Train and mentor junior care staff in best practices and care standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and regulatory standards in all care activities.
