While some documentation and monitoring tasks are routine and increasingly automated via EHRs and clinical support tools, the majority of this role—such as hands-on patient care, airway management, and mentoring—requires advanced clinical judgment, empathy, and physical presence. AI can augment decision-making and streamline workflows, but cannot replace the human skills central to critical care nursing.
