Job Description
Automation Risk
Most tasks in this role require in-person care, empathy, and physical assistance, which are resistant to automation. Some routine documentation and medication tracking can be augmented by technology, but the core responsibilities remain human-centric. AI exposure is moderate, mainly supporting record-keeping and communication, but substitution is limited.
Task analysis
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in their own homes.
- Administer prescribed medication to clients and monitor for side effects or issues.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Perform light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying.
- Accompany clients to appointments and shopping trips, providing transportation and support.
- Conduct welfare checks and report any concerns about client wellbeing to management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to reduce loneliness and promote wellbeing.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the care management team regarding care plans and updates.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and incidents as required by company policy.
