Job Description

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vessel Operator to join their dynamic Operations Department in the Isle of Man. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing vessel operations efficiently, ensuring that voyage schedules, instructions, and documentation are current and accurate. The role involves collaborating with Chartering, Trading, and other teams to manage recaps, voyage instructions, and contractual compliance. Monitoring voyages, including ETA/ETB/ETS updates, stowage plans, and bunker supply arrangements, will also be key. Automation Risk

Automation probabilityi52%
AI exposure (AIOE)i68%

This role contains a mix of routine (e.g., laytime calculations, payment processing) and augmented tasks (e.g., schedule monitoring, compliance checks) that are increasingly supported by digital tools and AI. However, significant elements such as stakeholder communication, issue resolution, and complex coordination remain human-centric and resist full automation. AI exposure is high due to the prevalence of data-driven and documentation tasks, but full automation is limited by the need for judgment and relationship management.
