While some routine tasks such as record-keeping and scheduling can be automated or augmented by software, the core of the lift engineer's role—diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and ensuring safety—requires on-site physical presence, technical judgment, and customer interaction. AI and digital tools can assist with diagnostics and compliance, but full automation is limited by the hands-on and safety-critical nature of the work.
