Essential: Formal qualification in Building/Construction (minimum HNC/HND level) or equivalent foundation experience. Ability to accurately interpret complex technical advice in relation to matters such as structural engineering, fire safety strategies, plans, drawings, calculations and specifications. Strong management skill and enthusiasm for leadership development e.g., team motivation, workload planning, supervision. Committed to compliance and customer focus delivery. Commitment to gaining LABC (or equivalent) qualifications. Full clean valid driving licence. Desirable: Knowledge of Building Regulations and public safety processes. Understanding of legal/enforcement aspects e.g., court applications. Building control related qualifications (any level). Budgeting experience. Political sensitivity.
