Lairage Operative

Job Title: Part-Time Lairage Operative. Job Type: Part-Time. About Us: Isle of Man Meats Company Ltd is a meat processing company based in the Isle of Man. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Lairage Operative to join our team. Job Summary: As a Part-Time Lairage Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lairage area, where animals are rested and prepared for processing. This is a part-time role, requiring 22 hours of work per week. Responsibilities: Assist with the unloading and movement of animals into the lairage area. Ensure the lairage area is clean and well-maintained at all times. Monitor animal health and report any concerns to senior staff. Assist with feeding and watering of animals as required. Maintain accurate records of animal movements and health. Work effectively as part of a team to achieve production targets. Requirements: No previous experience necessary, training will be provided. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical fitness and ability to lift and move animals. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Desired Qualifications: Basic understanding of animal welfare and handling principles. Food Safety and Handling / WATOK moving and Handling certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
