Job Description
Automation Risk
Many tasks in this role, such as preventative maintenance scheduling, inventory management, and route planning, are routine and increasingly automatable with field service and AI tools. However, hands-on repairs, physical installations, and customer-facing activities require human presence and judgment, limiting full automation. AI tools will significantly augment diagnostics, training, and communication, resulting in a medium automation risk but high exposure to AI augmentation.
Task analysis

- Escalate complex issues and collaborate with technical teams to resolve unusual faults.
- Manage vehicle stock of spare parts and consumables.
- Plan workload and travel routes to minimise travel time and maximise productivity.
- Keep customers informed of progress, especially when parts are required.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge through manufacturer and in-house training.
