Job Description
Automation Risk
Many core tasks in software testing, such as defect tracking, test case execution, and traceability, are increasingly supported or replaced by automation and AI tools, driving a high automation risk. However, human skills remain essential for requirements review, exploratory testing, and effective communication with stakeholders, which moderates the risk. The role is highly exposed to GenAI augmentation, especially for documentation, test case generation, and reporting.
Task analysis
- Review requirements and design specifications to ensure testability and completeness.
- Design and document formal test plans, scenarios, and completion reports.
- Execute manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality.
- Monitor and manage defects, including logging, tracking, and retesting fixes.
- Ensure traceability of tests to requirements/specifications.
- Create re-usable, automatable test cases for regression testing.
- Report testing progress and results to Test Lead/Manager and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify issues and requirements.
