Job Description

About the role Could you support children and young people with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs through skilled and compassionate care? As a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Professional, you will be central to the CAMHS Multi‑Disciplinary Team, contributing to the delivery of community‑based care for children and young people with mental health difficulties, ADHD and ASD. Daily work involves building strong therapeutic relationships, communicating effectively in challenging or emotive situations and ensuring accurate, timely information is shared with families, colleagues and partner agencies. You’ll participate in assessments, contribute to care planning, support interventions and evaluate progress with the wider MDT, focusing on providing clear clinical guidance, emotional support and consistent therapeutic engagement from assessment through to transition into Adult Services. Effective caseload management, sound clinical judgement and a calm, supportive approach are key to ensuring safe, responsive and child‑centred care. If you’re motivated to make a meaningful difference to children, young people and their families through skilled therapeutic support, apply now! A workplace that invests in you ✔ Enjoy higher salaries compared to the UK, along with annual salary increases that extend beyond typical UK NHS pay scales. ✔ A generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and 10 Public Holidays. ✔ Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements: the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement. ✔ Step away from NHS pressures and demands! The Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS. ✔ You may be eligible for a Blue Light Card, unlocking a wide range of exclusive discounts on shopping, food and leisure activities at hundreds of popular high street and online retailers. ✔ Access to the staff canteen at Noble’s Hospital where you can purchase affordable food and drinks in your breaks. ✔ Free on-site car parking. ✔ Our on-site education and training centre, Keyll Darree, comprises a lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state-of-the-art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners. ✔ Ability to apply for an unpaid career break after 3 years’ service. ✔ Access to the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year of employment. ✔ Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development. ✔ Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and signposting on a wide range of issues. ✔ Accommodation may be available for the first 6 months in your role at a reduced rate for non-Island residents, subject to availability. ✔ A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month.
