Many tasks in this role, such as drafting content, newsletter editing, and content calendar management, are highly exposed to AI augmentation and automation tools. However, relationship-building with journalists, responding to nuanced media inquiries, and creative idea generation remain human-centric and resist full automation, keeping overall risk moderate. GenAI tools can substantially assist but not fully replace the specialist.
