Automation Risk

Automation probabilityi78%
AI exposure (AIOE)i52%

This role is highly exposed to automation due to the routine and repetitive nature of most cleaning and supply tasks, which can be partially or fully replaced by robotic and outsourced solutions. However, tasks requiring real-time teamwork, adaptability, and guest interaction resist full automation. AI tools can augment reporting, scheduling, and compliance, but physical presence and service orientation remain important.

Task analysis

  • Clean guest bedrooms and bathrooms to hotel standards.
  • Service and clean public areas of the hotel (lobbies, corridors, restrooms).
  • Replenish guest supplies such as towels, toiletries, and linens.
  • Report maintenance issues or guest feedback to supervisors.
  • Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to hotel policy.
  • Support and coordinate with other housekeeping team members.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including use of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
  • Adapt to guest needs and special requests (e.g., extra cleaning, special arrangements).
