Job Description

Due to retirement a vacancy is available for an Assistant Sexton at Braddan Cemetery on behalf of the Braddan Burial Ground Authority. In assisting the Sexton the duties include (but are not limited to): Maintaining burial grounds to a high standard. Excavate and fill graves. Assist with records. Assist visiting members of the public. Assist funeral directors. Ongoing cemetery maintenance – grass mowing, care of shrubs/trees/machinery/buildings etc. Operation and maintenance of light plant. Driving the cemetery motor vehicle – currently a Vauxhall Combo van. Full Driving Licence needed. The role demands physical fitness and takes place in all weathers. It would suit someone with experience in landscaping/gardening or looking to train up on the duties. Employment of 37 hours pw – Monday to Friday.
